Must be able to float between In Patient & Out Patient facilities. Must be willing to work rotating weekends and be open to non-traditional scheduling such as 4 10 hour days from Friday to Monday. See basic function and minimum qualifications for the position below.

BASIC FUNCTION: Position responsible for ensuring clinical excellence in either an assigned work group or for an assigned patient population. Responsible for appropriate supervision of assigned personnel and performing direct patient care in a cost-effective manner. Serves as a resource and mentor for the staff, students and volunteers while assisting in setting up educational programs, providing input for program development, and serving as a resource for community education and marketing. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and advanced skills necessary to provide care appropriate of the patient served.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. He/she must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles and age groups.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's or graduate degree in physical therapy from an accredited university-based physical therapy program.
2. Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners license.
3. At least 5 years' of clinical experience required.
4. Demonstrates clinical excellence through seven or more points using the following criteria:
? Demonstrates ability and willingness to mentor/train staff or student interns. 1 point
? Provides clinical leadership and demonstrative expertise for a particular patient type/group. 1 point
? Enhances an existing or new clinical program for a patient type/group. 1 point
? Actively participates in a hospital and/or system or departmental committee/task force. 1 point
? Designs and implements original staff development program which facilitates the clinical competencies of other staff members. 1 point
? Initiates and/or provides leadership in an ongoing departmental interest/study group. 1 point
? Demonstrates leadership skills by assisting Director or Manager with daily operations including but not limited to: performance appraisals, performance issues, scheduling, marketing, interviewing, and training of staff, payroll, and cost management. 2 points
? Plays an active role in a clinically relevant research project outside requirement for degree. 1 point
? Obtains certification in a relevant treatment technique that enhances current scope of practice. 2 points
? Obtains national certification/licensure in a specialty field by a national organization, such as AOTA, APTA, ASHT 3 points
? Obtain advanced master's degree in clinically relevant area. 3 points

5. The position requires occasional/frequent lifting up to 75-100 pounds and carrying of up to 30 pounds prolonged standing frequent walking, stooping and squatting. Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing are also necessary. The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics are essential to this position.
