The Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat patients in a hospital-based outpatient setting. The outpatient clinic caseload primarily consists of patients with musculoskeletal diagnoses. The caseload includes patients with Medicare and workers compensation benefits. Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment within the PT scope of practice for Ohio, direct/supervise treatment given by PT support staff, and complete required documentation (including Medicare certifications) in accordance with Ohio Law/CMS/Kaiser Permanente compliance standards.
Essential Functions:
Treat patients of all age groups by performing chart reviews, evaluation, and creating a plan of care consistent with the deficits and goals determined at the evaluation
Re-evaluate the patient's condition and modifies treatment plan within prescribed precautions
Creates and implements treatment programs for outpatient clinic
Accommodates scheduling demands at all Kaiser Permanente clinics, such as coverage of evening hours beyond 5pm
Documents medical record test results, findings, patient signs, symptoms and therapeutic treatments
Directs/supervises PT support personnel in performance of appropriately delegated tasks (per Ohio law)
Participates in the education of fellow PT staff members/patients/community/PT students/self
Participates in departmental evidence-based practice meetings
Participates in special classes, clinics, or health fairs to further the PT knowledge/awareness of KP members and the community
Insures cleanliness of assigned areas and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection and routine testing
